Folding Exercise Bikes

One of the most popular areas in any fitness club is that where the stationary exercise bikes are located.  Using the exercise bike to warm up the body or to perform cardio-vascular fitness routines is enjoyed by people at all levels of fitness.  The resistance and speed may be controlled to provide a good workout for the legs, core, and cardio and respiration systems.  More elaborate exercise bikes may even have various “road courses” programmed into their control center, allowing for a variable exercise routine of hills and flats.

For the home user with a limited exercise area, there is a variety of stationary folding exercise bikes manufactured by a number of companies.  These are available in both upright and recumbent styles.  They readily fold or break-down for ease of storage and handling.  Some fold flat so they may be stored under a bed or couch or stood upright in a closet corner.  Just because they fold doesn’t mean they don’t have features.  At one end of the spectrum are the simple machines with basic controls, but on the other end are those with the same programmable features as the high-end bikes found at the health spa.  Prices of folding exercise bikes will range from under $200 to several thousand, dependent upon the features of the machine.

Folding exercise bikes are both manual, as on the very basic models, to motorized and computer controlled at the high-end.  On some, the electrical power to run the accessories is generated by the pedal-power provided by the user’s legs.
