Wide Range of Models for Home Use
Horizon Fitness makes a wide variety of medium priced treadmills designed for home use. A minimally equipped and featured model for home use may sell for under $500, while a full-featured, heavy-duty machine may command more than $2,200. Horizon Fitness emphasizes the “three Cs” of a home fitness machine: Comfort, Convenience and Control. Most Horizon Fitness treadmills are designed to fold for easy storage and all have wheels for convenient mobility.
The motor size, controls, belt, features and overall size are the elements that affect the price of any Horizon Fitness treadmills.
- Motor: The treadmill motor is the heart of the unit and on Horizon Fitness they will range from 1.5 horse power for a home use unit, to a 3 horse power motor on their largest commercial-type of unit. All Horizon treadmill motors have a continuous duty rating (CHP) like those in a commercial gym. Additionally, the motors on Horizon Fitness machines are quiet and non-intrusive, allowing for TV or audio enjoyment while working out.
- Belts: The treadmill belts on Horizon treadmills are of varying lengths and widths, depending upon the size of the machine. All their belts allow for sufficient length of pace for walking or running and the width will accommodate a wide running track but still permit easy step-off while moving. The belts are sufficiently padded for comfort, but not too soft so as not to promote bobbing up and down.
- Controls: Horizon controls are easy to read and operate and have one-touch for ease of programming changes during exercising. They may be programmed for custom routines or used with the preset programs. The more elaborate controls have speakers and even fans.
- Frame: The frames on all Horizon Fitness treadmills are all very heavy-duty, regardless of the size and machine model. Years of heavy usage may be expected from all Horizon treadmills.
