The plan here is still to cut back on your food consumption so that your body uses its stored fat for energy. Again, this is still not a long period of time, so don’t worry too much about affecting your metabolism. Go to two meals per day, one in mid morning, and one in the afternoon. These meals should not exceed 500 calories, and should be a balance of protein, fats, and carbohydrates. Make sure to include large helpings of low calorie vegetables to help fill you. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, and take your vitamins with your meal in the morning. Keep this up for a few weeks to a month and you should see a 10 or 15 pound weight loss.
For a quick weight loss of over 20 pounds, you will need to follow a diet that you can sustain for a longer period of time. Drastically cutting your food intake is not sustainable over a long period of time and will negatively affect your metabolism.
