Studio Fitness is a yoga and Pilates physical training class. They are not a typical gym that includes running or lifting weights. They only focus on a variety of activities. Located in New Jersey, Studio Fitness is owned by Jennifer and Michael Popper. The studio has been opened since November 2006 and offers personalized sessions. Not only do clients get to receive personal training sessions, but they can also enjoy the training without spending a lot of money. They are more affordable than the average Pilate and yoga training centers. Clients can enjoy a calming and relaxing atmosphere when in training without any distractions. Their sessions are not only restricted to yoga and Pilates, but also venture into new dynamics such as ballet inspired movements and belly dancing. Other training classes offer meditation classes which is perfect for those looking to relax and relieve a lot of tension.
The owner, Jennifer started the studio after joking with her husband about starting her own Pilate’s business and quitting her typical day job. Some of her favorite hobbies included playing volleyball along with Pilate’s classes. Jennifer purchases the studio from the original owner.
There are a variety of classes to choose from including; Pilates, yoga, cardio, sculpt and dance. Studio Fitness also offers free mats to new members. People who are interested in becoming a new member can receive a free mat by going to the website and signing up for a ‘free class card’. When you show up to class, all you have to do is show the card to the teacher/instructor. They even accept ideas from current or potential students for new class ideas.
Some of their personal training includes; boxing, Thai Yoga, Swedish massage, deep tissue/myofascial release, foot reflexology and aromatherapy massage. To work on your core muscles, there are a variety of classes to take in order to achieve the look you want, such as; belly dancing, performance barre, hip-hop dance, cardio plates and much more. All of these activities are met to strengthen the mid-section (also known as the core).
The studio continues to add more classes and other activities for fitness and relaxation such as a variety of massages. Some of their upcoming events include, ‘Autumn Yoga Workshops with Doreen Johnson’. The workshop will be two hours long and will deepen your yoga practice. This is only an example to the number of workshops that are essential and useful for current or potential students.
